Aluminum-based light alloys have a well-established reputation for lightness, reliability, strength, durability and versatility, so much so that they are widely used in many industrial sectors, such as automotive construction, building and civil engineering, mechanical engineering... These alloys are an integral part of the materials used to make lightweight parts, thanks to their performance in terms of yield, precision, consistency and homogeneity. Moulds are created using the impression of the part to be produced, before they are used to accommodate the molten metal alloys. As the melting point of aluminum alloys is quite low, molds can be used constantly. The lightness of the parts, but also their degree of thermal and electrical conductivity, their corrosion resistance, their mechanical strength... and, more generally, their mechanical and physico-chemical properties depend not only on the applications for which they are intended, but also on other factors such as the nature of the various components of the aluminum alloy, the micrographic structure, the nominal composition, the balance between the various solid phases...
AB Fonderie specializes in the casting of aluminum and other light alloys, and is highly adaptable, drawing on its expertise in aluminum casting to meet specific customer requirements:
- prototyping prior to larger-scale production, requiring verification of the functionality and performance of future parts, as well as their reliability and quality, and an estimate of the financial and technical feasibility of their future manufacture;
- production of mechanical parts in small and medium production runs to supply assembly lines, spare parts warehouses or supplies requiring high-precision manufacturing.
When you work with AB Fonderie, you can rest assured :
- to work with a collective of 3 interdependent companies, offering you the benefit of diversified technologies and skills for your aluminum and light-alloy parts manufacturing project;
- cooperate with a team of 50 technicians who are both responsive and capitalize on know-how that has been tried and tested since 1999;
- benefit from support from A to Z, in addition to efficient, customized technical solutions for aluminum casting;
- obtain a guarantee that castings will be delivered after a maximum period of 6 weeks.
To manufacture your parts, the AB Fonderie group uses 2 moulding processes:
- gravity die-casting (filling a metal mold to produce small parts weighing from 50 g to 10 kg, for production runs of 100 to 1,000 parts).
- Aluminium pressure die-casting (a process similar to plastic injection molding for the manufacture of high-precision mechanical parts ranging from 20 g to 1 kg, in production runs exceeding 5,000 units).
We also use another technique to manufacture your high-precision industrial parts. This is electrical discharge machining of aluminum. This process enables us to manufacture your prototypes and/or parts in small and medium production runs.
