Moulds are created using the impression of the part to be produced, before they are used to accommodate the molten metal alloys. As the melting point of aluminum alloys is quite low, molds can be used constantly. The lightness of the parts, but also their degree of thermal and electrical conductivity, their corrosion resistance, their mechanical strength... and, more generally, their mechanical and physico-chemical properties depend not only on the applications for which they are intended, but also on other factors such as the nature of the various components of the aluminum alloy, the micrographic structure, the nominal composition, the balance between the various solid phases...

Aluminum die-casting and injection molding
To manufacture your parts, the AB Fonderie group uses 2 moulding processes:
- gravity die-casting (filling a metal mold to produce small parts weighing from 50 g to 10 kg, for production runs of 100 to 1,000 parts).
- Aluminium pressure die-casting (a process similar to plastic injection molding for the manufacture of high-precision mechanical parts ranging from 20 g to 1 kg, in production runs exceeding 5,000 units).
We also use another technique to manufacture your high-precision industrial parts. This is electrical discharge machining of aluminum. This process enables us to manufacture your prototypes and/or parts in small and medium production runs.
